Alterations

Our wedding dresses are made to order, and that means your chosen gown will be ordered in your size and will then need to be tweaked once it arrives to fit you perfectly. 90%+ of our brides request some level of alteration. The cost of alterations are not included in the purchase price of your gown as this can range from taking in the waist, shortening the length of the gown, letting out the bodice, adding sleeves, the options can be many; even adding that special cherished broach from your grandmother! After your gown arrives we have our fantastic alterations specialist on hand who will be able to give a firm written quote. We then suggest coming in 4-6 weeks before your wedding so that your gown can be altered to fit you to perfection!

Brides by Donna Rae is lucky enough to have an extremely talented bridal seamstress onsite who has over 20 years experience in professional bridal tailoring and custom alterations. Kay will work closely with you to ensure your dress fits like a glove. If you can’t quite find the perfect gown, but have an idea of what you would like, bring in a photo and Kay can create your unique design from scratch.

Delivery
Times

If your gown needs to be ordered, it will be delivered to the store approximately 3-6 months after ordering, unless otherwise stated on your invoice. You will be contacted when it has been delivered to arrange your first fitting. On delivery of your gown, there will be 1-3 fittings to ensure the best possible fit. For all your fittings you need to bring the shoes and undergarments (if required) that you intend to wear on the day.
